Q: Sometimes the appointment history matches the RO in the service history but other times I find they do not match. Is there a reason for this?
A: There are a number of reasons why these two tabs will not match but before going into the reasons it is important to understand what data is being displayed in these screens. Appointment history is a snapshot of every appointment booked on that customer file since DealerMine was turned on at the dealership. Regardless of whether the appointment was booked in the DMS, booked in DealerMine, updated or deleted, it will display in appointment history.  Service history is a record of all closed work orders for the corresponding vehicle. Service history on the vehicle will download from the DMS nightly and historical data is available prior to DealerMine’s start date at the dealership. Here are some reasons why appointment history and service history may not match;   Â
- Appointment history will list all services booked on the appointment, frequently these are changed, deleted or updated when the customer arrives at the dealership. Therefore the closed work order will have different services and repairs listed. Â
- If the customer does not show for their appointment you will see appointment history but no service history corresponding to that appointment date.  Â
- If the customer is a walk in there will be service history but no appointment history as there was no appointment booked. Â
- If the appointment was booked on the wrong vehicle there will be appointment history but no corresponding service history. The service history would only show on the vehicle the RO was closed on. Â
- If DealerMine started in 2013 there will be no appointment history showing prior to 2013 but likely there would be service history showing. This does not mean the customer had never booked an appointment previously, it is just information that is not captured until DealerMine is turned on. If the appointment does not pull over into DealerMine before the RO is open then there will be no appointment history.
